Privacy policy
What this site collects, why, and for how long. Last updated November 2026.
In short
- You can browse this site without signing in. No ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies.
- Blog pages show Google's “preferred source” button, which loads from Google.
- Signing in with LinkedIn is only needed for the chat, and I receive just your name, LinkedIn ID, and profile photo. Never your email.
- Nothing about you is stored in a database. Your sign-in lives only in your own browser and expires after 12 hours.
- Chat messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to write the reply. This site doesn't keep them.
Sign in with LinkedIn
To use the chat, you sign in with LinkedIn. LinkedIn asks for your permission and then shares only your basic profile with this site: your name, your LinkedIn ID, and your profile photo. Your email address is not requested.
That information is kept in a signed cookie in your browser, so the site knows you're signed in. It isn't saved on the server. The cookie expires after 12 hours, or right away when you click Sign out. Your profile photo is shown from LinkedIn's own servers.
Cookies and storage
- Sign-in cookie
- Set when you click Sign in with LinkedIn. Expires in 12 hours or on sign-out.
- Theme choice
- Light or dark, saved in your browser only if you switch it.
- Tracking or ad cookies
- None set by this site.
- Google button (blog only)
- Loaded from Google, which may set its own cookies under its privacy policy.
The chat
Replies come from an AI version of me, built on Anthropic's Claude API and limited to notes I wrote about my work. When you send a question, it goes to Anthropic, together with the recent messages of the conversation, to produce the reply. Anthropic processes it under its own commercial terms and privacy policy.
This site doesn't save your conversation. It exists only in your browser tab and is gone when you close or leave the page. Please don't share sensitive personal information in the chat.
To prevent abuse, the server counts questions per LinkedIn ID (up to 5 per minute and 30 per day), and sign-in attempts per IP address. These counts are kept in memory only, for at most a day, and are cleared whenever the server restarts.
Server logs
Like most websites, the web server records each request (IP address, page, time, and browser type) to keep the site running and secure. These logs are deleted automatically after 14 days.
Sharing and your choices
I don't sell or share your information. It only passes through the services needed to run the site: LinkedIn for sign-in, Anthropic for chat replies, and Amazon Web Services, where the site is hosted.
Blog pages also show Google's “Add as a preferred source” button so you can follow this site in Google Search. It's loaded from Google (news.google.com), so Google receives your visit to those pages, like any embedded Google feature, under Google's privacy policy. Other pages don't load anything from Google.
You can sign out at any time, clear this site's cookies in your browser, or remove this site's access in your LinkedIn settings (Settings › Data privacy › Permitted services).
